I sometimes worry that white ants could eat the studs on which trophies are secured. Termites are a threat to the whole house, of course, but that would be a hell of a way to find out they had invaded.

I had a Bob Cat fall off the wall one evening while me and the wife were sitting on the couch 15' away.

come to find out the nephew that was living with us at the time was bumping into it about 2-3 times a week working everything loose on the back.

Had a kudu fall off the wall - crap material in backing board and the mounting plate pulled out - gored a whole in the wall and split one of the horns at the base.

It was a crap mount, done in Zimbabwe, and I'll probably cut the skull plate out of it, fix and remount the horn, and keep it as a skull plate mount.
