Between The Lines

It is interesting what rifles are being offered for sale at low prices.

A Super Shadow from Frank O'Reilly at $790- with mounts.

Nearly all the bargains in the current "SS' have that acronym WSSM or WSM after them.

I haven't got any recent Sporting Shooter mags. Are there any left-hand rifle specials? WSM or not I don't care.

GBB,
The WSSM are being run-out as nobody wants them. At australianhunting.net there was talk awhile back that some places had WSSM (M70s and A-Bolts) just under $600 for the bare rifle.
Cheers...

Seems that unless it's a .223 or .308 the wholesalers don't want to stock it anymore .
WSSM calibres (particularly Brownings) are not selling well and Winchester Australia has probably decided to clear out of stocks at low prices it would seem .
Also must have decided to clear the floor of 7mm WSM's as Cleaver Firearms had an ad in the "Australian Shooter" last month with model 70's under $700 .I had a mate buy one on my recommendation and he was told that apparently quite a few of the 20 or so 7mm WSM's Cleavers had were bought by other dealers who normally pay around $300 more than that themselves . Wouldn't you love to be a small firearms dealer with this sort of crap going on ?

The hunting imperative was part of every man's soul; some denied or suppressed it, others diverted it into less blatantly violent avenues of expression, wielding clubs on the golf course or racquets on the court, substituting a little white ball for the prey of flesh and blood.
