Spent last weekend in central Victoria with some guys from another hunting forum , hunting foxes. Bit warm , over 42 degrees one day , and 38 or so most others.

This was a boys-only adventure for Matt since he had missed out on both chital and rusa trips I did to Aussie over the past 2 years, plus it was the end of his school holidays too. He started high school the day after we returned so that should have given him a tale or two to bullshit to his new classmates....

Heres a pic

Excellent Muzza tu2 I just spent a good weekend with my youngest as well. Bit of fishing up at the grandparents.

So how many foxes did you guys bag?

A mate of mine has just told me he's shagging his girlfriend and her twin. I said "How can you tell them apart?" He said "Her brother's got a moustache!"

Denis - the reality is I would rather see Matt shoot an interesting game animal now than do it myself. I've shot enough stuff in my life to not get excited about it any more. And he is a good shot , better than his old man. If he pulls finger at high school he may well get to do a trophy hunt somewhere special.

Bakes , when you only have one kid and he is growing up fast you have to spend time or he will be gone. He did really well , considering the heat , and being in a group of guys we had just met . from memory we shot about 11 foxes for the weekend , I shot 3 and Matt shot 1 that unfortunately we werent able to recover. And he shot some rabbits at more than 350 metres so it was a pretty interesting adventure all round - even if they are boring species to you Aussies... Wink

Nothing boring about anything that moves when you have a rifle in your hands.

Just taking the rifle for a walk is the best part , warm targets are a bonus.

Boy-o-boy the forage down there is dried out with the heat, up here its wet (almost drowned), green & growing like the devil.
