A mate of mine has just told me he's shagging his girlfriend and her twin. I said "How can you tell them apart?" He said "Her brother's got a moustache!"

I would bet money that he got those injuries on a fence or some sort of obstruction in his pen area. Almost every one of those was horizontal as opposed to an animal reaching up and raking down. I have seen some very nasty wounds that occurred because the horse just kept backing up into something like a piece of tin or Nails on a fence.

X2, cats like to go for the neck area. Happens once in a while around here. I always say, horses are born suicidal. Big cats in Australia ? Confused

A slow-news week, perhaps? Were a cat to just attack the rear like that, I'd expect equal scratches on each side. Then, of course, it might expect to be kicked.

Like above, sure looks like barb wire marks to me. I was raised around horse's and seen many cuts from it. Mostly to the shoulders or feet though. We doctored at least one wire cut every year, many times several.

Not a cat attack IMHO. Some of those scratches are crossing!

A few years ago I was in a National Park in India and saw a bull gaur with claw marks on its haunches & they were angling down, very deep, and not all claws got full traction - probably just 3 or 4. Yes both haunches had the marks but one side was not as badly scratched. The bull must have been kicking & running so the tiger could not get a full hold. The fact that the bull escaped is another point to note.
