It takes alot of time and effort to make Bakes look a star. It's all done with mirrors. Don't let it go to his head.

You are the "Gary Hall". with the articles in different Aus magazines.

Sorry, mate. I never clicked.

YOU must have shot a lot of pigs by now, with you sons and mates.

I didn't realize you posted! on the AR Forum I mean.

I love WBA and BB plus nearly every other Australian mag.

Great stories. I enjoy reading them.

I look at the AR Forums, but hardly ever post. To busy, often chasing hogs three or more days a week and if I'm not hunting I'm writting. This was just a good chance to have a go at Bakes. Who's a good hunting mate and top friend.
Gary.

All of the above, plus some dead pigs? Unless "disturbing" would be something worse than a good laugh and some blackmail material... rotflmo

Gary and a very red faced me on my very first hunt with the PNTPH. The lads walked me for miles for 2 good pigs and then the hairy thing found and chased this good boar until the boys caught up. As you can see by my face I lagged a little behind Big Grin

Gary and Matt with (I think) thier latest boar. Notice the grass in the area flattened by the scrap!!

My first Northern Territory pig taken on the run with my beloved old Ruger MK1.

Thanks for the pictures. If you have time I'd like to hear a little bit about how you hunt. It seems that everyone does things a little different. Apparantly you walk your dogs until they pick up a fresh track and find the hogs. We don't usually walk them that far (2 miles) but maybe that's something we should be doing. We hunt a lot of grain fields and I'd guess that after we've walked around the field and then through it a couple of times we've probably walked over 2 miles.

Looks like a very good time was had by all....

Couple of nice pigs too. You certainly have had some stories published that I have read. Just to make you feel your age, Gary, the first must have been in the 70's? Sporting Shooter?

It must have been a typical hot day up there?

These are some great pictures, thanks to whoever posted them.

Question: That spotted pig, is that huge head typical? Seems out of proportion to the rest of him.

Enjoying reading your posts. Do hope to make the trip over someday. Mighty long swim from the middle of the USA. Any of you fellows come over here make contact, I'll do what I can to help you have a good time and see the country.

Hi georgeld wave

The spotted porker with Gary Halls son is not exactly "typical" of an Australian pig but the boys seem to have a knack in finding the big fellas.

Having hunted in several of our states I can say that the pigs here in the NT are much larger all round than the bulk I have taken. Someone will correct me if I am wrong but I have always assumed that the body/head shape and ear size is related to the domestic breeds that these fellas decend from.

I would dearly love to visit the US (Home of cheap gun gear and optics) one day cheers Same goes if you ever visit here too!

Daniel

PS.
I will post some more shots of the pigs the halls boys and I have taken together if people are interested?

OK. Is there any sort of recipies for those piggies? I do know commercial pork of the lower cost type here in American stores often has an armpit-like odor. On tghe other hand some of what the Mexicans call "chuletas" or lower-end pork chops, if the proper type, can make a fabulous sandwich.
