Seems Ron Owen is in the shit yet again.



As a dealer, he had to submitt a manifest of handgun items to be surrendered with the Queensland Police by the 20th February 2004. Ron has so much stuff and so little time to do things (as well as prepare his defence and attend court for 6 weeks on another trumped up firearms charge that was thrown out) that he didn't get the manifest finished and submitted on time.



Police turn up last week to check his stock and 5 coppers spent 3 days measuring all the barrel lenghts and found that he has 3500 handguns not itemised for surrender. Sorry Ron "WE WON'T BUYBACK YOUR $4.0m WORTH of NOW ILLEGAL STOCK".



You can surrend all these "WITHOUT COMPENSATION" or "as a dealer you can keep them!". He obviously can't sell these illegal short barrelled handguns to the general run of pistol shooters, and every other dealer in Australia has been compensated for stock on hand; but not Ron.

His only redress therefore is to take Beatty to court to get the fair compensation to which he is entitled. Seems almost like a ressurection of another recent very expensive fiasco involving the Beatty Government and a bottle of wine!

More proof (if any was needed) that these rectumorifices in our Govt's just won't give up. They have tried to discredit him, he wins a seat in Local Govt. They have charged him with Firearms Offences, the charges are thrown out in Court. Now the Beaurocrat Dogs have been let loose - this might just be his biggest fight yet - as you know, the faceless Public Servant is a mighty foe!!
