Some months back, i was directed to watch a youtube video from a guy who was hunting near where i live.
He's been teaching himself to hunt and without contacts in the farming community, hes targeting some of the small local public land reserves.
Those reserves are generally over hunted and pretty tough going.
He has a dog and has been trying really hard to catch a pig with it. For those who know, its damn hard to start a dog on pigs without other trained dogs.
Anyway I liked his attitude and persistence, so sent him a message, and he showed up here that evening.
Videos of proceedings below.

Nice one Craig. He sure looks keen. I bet your kindness helps solidify what will become a lifelong interest. Great to see someone helping a young hunter find his feet. Just what our much loved pastime needs.

Hunting.... it's not everything, it's the only thing.

Its easy enough to recognise a novice like that young bloke is but he had a dip and thats a starter.
I was disappointed that he took a non stock broken dog onto a property though.
The importance of having stock broken hunting dogs is immense..I hope you gave him a serve shanks.

There was a reason I wassnt upset in video. He told me before we went that the dog had not been around stock and we were using the occision for that purpose. He had an electric colar on it and gave it a decent whack on that.
I dont mind if people are up front and need some help.

You are ultimately the boss in that regard mate, the dog on its performance on the grunta wouldn't have done any damage to a beast other than run them around a bit.
Different here shanks with the wild dogs, all the cows here gang up like a herd of buff and fight back.
