Yes, as I recall, Gryphon, and as we've seen in Japan this week, you can't be too careful when it comes to this stuff.

Now I remember ... it was only nuclear-armed subs that were excluded but the US did not want to tell the Ruskies which ones had those weapons, so they banned them all from visiting NZ.

Well I for one am not complaining about the Aussie, Yank, Pom, Jap or Chinese invasion that we just experienced here in Chch. It brought a tear to the eye seeing all those USAR teams coming here just to help us out, especially the Aussie cops who are very popular here.

While I have poked more than the occasional jibe at you all here I want to pass on my heart felt thanks to all those involved.

It has been a very humbling experience seeing everyone rushing too our aid and yes you do deserve a day off to honour the invasion.

Bugger it we have just had another good shake while typing this and the nerves are a bit ragged but we will make it through thanks to the help we have got.
