Fellow members,

My name is Dante, a new member from Brazil.

Have been invited to give a talk in Wellington first week of March.

As I love to hunt elk, I wanted to enjoy some elk or red stag hunting while in NZ.

Usually I like to hunt hard with a recurve bow and on my own. But understand that would be difficult being this my first trip. I would like to hunt on beautiful places in the wilderness, trophy size is not very importat to me.

Any help or suggestions of a place to go would be great.

Is the second week of March OK??

Thanks, Dante

yes, the second week of march would be fine, as the red stags will be in hard antler by then, and should be fairly well polished up

you wont have any problem hunting reds then but you wont be able to hunt wapiti/elk at that time of year
all the wap blocks are closed to hunting them open up for the ballots around the 14th of March and you are to late to enter
