Been lurking for ages, thought I'd better drop in, say Hi and deposit my allocation of drivel.

I live in South Oz in the Barossa area and do a little hunting around the place from time to time. Mainly small stuff, foxes, bunnies, hares and the like. I run Sako's in .222 and 22lr, also a Marlin 45/70 Guide.
Have a few acres near where I live that I own so I can go and have a shot whenever the bug bites.

And now the the best part...(ducks for cover)...I'm an ex-patriot Kiwi...yeah!!!

Cheers Guys

Lord be praised; he's seen the light and become an Aussie

Welcome Atavar to non-technical Australian & New Zealand drivel forum. Please feel free to add your ready s*it ; I meant whit, and boundless knowledge to the threads.

I have a little Sako 222 Remington, an "A1 Hunter" with the thinest whipiest barrel I even seen on a centerfire rifle but the bloody thing always puts that first shot spot on the bull. I'd sell it if it wasn't so accurate.

Ahh yes - infiltration by stealth . Marry one of them , have kids and raise the national IQ considerably .....

Welcome aboard mate - the more the merrier . Dont worry about the drivel thing , it will pass soon and we will return to meaningfull discourse on the subject of hunting and other manly pastimes . Watch out for Far Canel tho , he is of undetermined sexual preferance so is best kept at very long arms length..

Yep!....had the operation a couple of years ago......brain removed and replaced with concrete.....complete success.....

NitroX...I'm near Springton and have 100acres (you can call me sir )just a few K's from Mt Pleasant getting towards Tungkillo in that rocky dry country.
I bought it in the hope of chasing dozens of rabbits around with a rifle on the weekends, but, just my luck, have since found out after walking over it there ain't a single fuggen rabbit on the place. Calicivirus has been through recently so nothing doing.

Oh well. Still good to let a few rounds go now and again. I need to set up a bit of a range there with bench and backstop in the future.

Cheers

G'day Avatar,

welcome to the forum. Bloody typical of a kiwi to 'lurk' - that's kind of what you lot do!

I'll probably be struck off the Register for saying this, but I would have thought that removing your 'kiwi' brain would only increase your IQ, replacing it with concrete just might (maybe) bring you up to speed with a 'Sloooowww' Aussie!

(Immediate public apology) for the benefit of the Psychologists Registration Board - don't want to bring the profession into disrepute!!

My kid sister (? she's 40!) is down your way, (Tanunda), works for Lehmanns (sp).

Anytime you need to cull the rocks, let me know, I'll give you a hand!

Hah, I have rabbits in my front garden, much to the anger of my GSP, Siegfried.

So have you called your 100 acres an "estate" yet?

I have a German named Siegfried renting a house I own - this guy is internationally famous as an Ultra Long Distance runner , the Sydney to Melbourne type running - but I have to say that your GSP would have more brains in his little toe than his namesake !!! Totally irrellevant , but I just thought I would throw it into the conversation.

Welcome , once again , to the world of hunting and suitably irrellevant and ireverant subjects. And dont take sh*t from NitroX - he really is a big softy at heart
