Thanks for the replies everyone. The price will be about $2000 + freight from Melbourne to your nominated Gundealer .I must have a order of 4 to get them to keep this price otherwise it goes up to $2500 . Ammunition by Hornady is available and imported by Herrons in Sydney . I have a case of ammo and one on order. Ruger is now making the No 1 in .405Win and the agent is importing a few (shame Winchester Australia) So if interested 25% deposit balance payable when ready to go to your Gundealer. If there is a cancellation after I have paid the US supplier there is no refund unless you can get someone else to take your order. expect about 8 week wait. Please PM me for my email/phone number to order. Thanks

I am tempted but the 50 Alaskan rings my bell to...Con I wonder what cost these would be landed and who is your contact.

I will follow the .405 story as I am quite impulsive and likely to falter

PC,
I'll check in the coming weeks as to the status of the WildWest 50 Alaskans. At this point all I know is one dealer is toying with the idea of importing a sole unit and then will import a few more if his customers place orders. When I know more I'll let you know, either way if it goes ahead it will be some time in the future.
Cheers...

This thread is going to cost me a fortune!

I just followed the link to the Winchester site to drool over the '95, again, and I also found the link to the 1885 .17HMR as well - Wow, what a pretty rifle. I am not sure if I can 'tolerate' such a tiny calibre in my gun safe but that rifle is just so pretty that I want one..... if only they were in a bigger calibre!

Bakes,I know what you mean. I've got a seven year old girl and on some days if the Gypsies came to my door I'd trade her for two chickens and a bottle of wine. Those are the days when a bad day at work is better than a good day at home. Sorry...more of the dreaded Drivel.

Davidsons in US ordered a special run of Winchester 1885 in .405Win plus some other big Buffalo calibres . I can inquire with my US supplier ,if you are interested. I may be able to bring one out with the 1895's. Thanks
