Things seemed to have slowed down some. Anybody been hunting? I hav'nt been out this year yet. We had a crappy wet season but the grass is still very tall. Gary Hall has been out and about and has scored a few boars, but has worked hard for them.
Seen quite a few snakes about, mostly childrens and olive pythons, have seen a few browns and one orange naped snake (or moon snake) and a brown tree snake which was a cool looking fella.

DOK Have you many rabbits down your part of the country? Has the Calici knocked them about much? I seem to recall that in some desert areas there were heavy concentrations of rabbits? APB

APB Down here these days its a case of Rabbits wot Rabbits? The Calici was like nothing I've ever seen before or since it was a vertaly over night plague. One day there were Rabbits everywhere the next coupeses every where! it had to be seen to be belived. It shut down the Rabbit industry in 6mths from is release! When times were hard in the Roo Industry we always new we could fall back onto Rabbits but not any more. The funny thing is it never seemed to affect Hares.

DOK Amazing re the rabbits down there! In NZ it has had patchy effect with one gully wiped out and then two gullies over teeming again? They have not been "wiped out" by the calici over there. Maybe the strain that was smuggled into NZ lost some of the initial virulance?

Calici was released around Lithgow but it didn't have much effect either. Perhaps with good food and water the rabbits don't move around enough to spread it?

gryphon 1 "Holy Big Palms Batman" is this bloke still passing on his progeny or is he rotting away, headless, in some paddock with the wedgetails eating backstrap for dinner Did he end up as a trophy? and if so, how big did he go? Malcolm56
In late March I had a great time as the reds were roaring non-stop in the brisbane valley. I went from 3X3 to 3X3 until I got a 4X4, seems that was the best you could get. You never know when there roaring but I struck it when all of em were.

I saw something on the news tonght. That camels in OZ were going to get culled by shooters in choppers. They should give you a ring and let you have something to do.
