Is that Craig Boddington in the first pic or do I need new glasses?

Only if you missed that he is also pictured with a hog deer in the photo underneath as well. jumping

Looks like Boddington might be going for the SCI south pacific grand slam. He would already be well on his way and the hoggie would be one of the more difficult species he is missing. I corresponded with Craig over a decade ago and he was interested in hunting sambar at that time.

He only needs sambar and white-tailed deer. Hopefully he will get ***another*** shot at them in 2008 but both are difficult and neither guaranteed. I dont think Craig is that interested in SCI awards but he would sure like to claim all of the S.Pacific species wild-and-free.

The chap in the picture with the sambar just completed his South Pacific species (all wild) - the sambar and axis were the last two he needed. That sambar was his second ten-day guided hunt he did **this year** and his third overall. It sure takes some dedication, especially when you have to fly over the Pacific numerous times to do it (when coming from the USA).

Cheers
Matt

Jeez, that poor bastard Wink I must say I don`t mind reading Boddingtons stuff, I may not agree with him always ( nothing wrong with that ) He and I are both cack handed so this helped made me take interest in his yarns.

Matt,
Where are the pigs?

I had dinner with Roger a few weeks ago and saw some of his photos. He said he had a great time with you blokes.

Hi Stu!

Roger sent all of his photos to my agent in Germany for a convention this week - so I havent even seen them yet. I didnt take photos that week as I left my camera in another camp Mad

Looking forward to seeing them though and I will post a gallery of the boars we took that week when I get them. It's hard to collest all the photos, as we had three camps running this year, plus numerous other hunts around the south Pacific and guides coming and going. Those buffalo are just a few from one of the guides who work for me - there were many more!

When are you coming to get busy with a buff?

Cheers mate
Matt

Might be a while off. I'm still chasing a mature sambar stag during the few hunting days I get back home, and I made my first trip to Africa this year. My crystal ball says there'll be return trips there for sure.

Best of luck with the show season. Will you be in Dortmund again?

No I had to cancel my Dortmund trip but I am thinking of going to the Munich SCI show in mid-feb. Not sure yet - only 50/50 atm.

If you need a hand with the sambar let me know I have a good guide down there. Public land only but he has the good oil and tricks...
Sept/early Oct is the deal.

Roger and his mate Heinz are top blokes eh!! I could do some serious hunting with those guys. Interesting - Heinz has hunted forever in Germany but never shot a trophy boar. We fixed him up!! Hey thanks again for the referral ...much appreciated.

Cheers
Matt
