Its been some years since I hunted there but I would imagine it would be a French adapter which should be avaliable at the airport.

jdollar go to RadioShack and pick up one of their adapter kits with or without the converter. Mine came with 6 different adapters and I've used it in 4 different continents so far with no problems.

If you are staying in a Hotel and it has a shaver plug in the bathroom problem solved. Most take almost any plug and can be switched between 110V and 220-240V.

Like others have said you can get a kit of adapter plugs that will cover most situations and they will be on sale in New Caledonia as well as USA. A good place usually is duty free shops in airport and staff will know what you need. Allow $5 - $10, not a big deal.

Often the power lead from the plug to the black transformer box plugs in and the local electric jug cord might even fit!
