AS most Aus members know Frank O'reilly's gun shop was robbed of up to 60 firearms yesterday.
What caught my attention was one rifle is one of those super top of the line Sako`s @ $10500 bucks.
Now that is one hot potato and wont be an easy one to get rid of.
I bought my Win 70 7mm RM from Franks a lifetime ago and was the best gun shop in Australia when he had it.

Melbourne is a long way from Canberra so I never made it down there to his shop.

Abellas was the nicest gunshop in Oz that I had visited. I heard it closed doors shortly after I left.

A mate of mine worked at Reloaders Whorehouse in Canberra, and I was friends with the owner for quite a long while. Until they all had some huge falling out and I never set foot in the place again.

Wagga is supposed to have a newer shop owned by Mr Butts. I don't now the guy's first name, his father John and I shot F-Class together.

Some good shops in Oz, but fuck if they don't get screwed over by the feds and the coppers.

Yes the Vic Pol mob will go hard on this one. A coincidence that the gun rules/laws are being re drawn?

As of this week all 37 handguns have been retrieved. The offenders in their late teens, early 20 have been arrested. It appears they are from an ethnic minority with crime links. Great work by the Victorian Police in such a fast resolution.

The numbers report discrepancy still seems strange to me. I seem to recall hearing that at least one longarm was taken in that robbery, too, but have heard nothing more about it.

SS reports today.

After a week of victim blaming, six men all in their teens or early 20s and described as members of a Middle Eastern crime syndicate, have been arrested over last week's armed robbery at O’Reillys gun shop.

That sounds a bit slack, George, but no worse in a way than a story I heard about some state with mandatory sentencing, where a young offender on his third conviction was sentenced to life in prison - for stealing a slice of pizza.

I was in Abelas a week ago, so the story about them closing was a bit of an exaggeration... Razzer

Reloaders Warehouse (note the spelling) is a bit weird and sometimes doesn't seem to be open.

I like Shooters in Mitchell, but I know the owner is not universally loved - as someone told me "He doesn't put up with fools". I have heard him talking to someone in the shop who demands to know where his overseas package is, and I've heard him say that it's through Customs, and with the couriers - then the guy wants to know when the couriers will deliver and he says he doesn't know, but it should be during the coming week, then he gets asked what day and so on. I want to tell the guy to fuck off and I don't even work there.

There's a decent one in Queanbeyan also, BTW - called Tough Gear.
