The Rusa has a nice set of sticks on him, Muzza.

Well done.

That head has a beautiful shape.

I know measurements don't mean much, but what length?

Shanks - from memory - cos the head is at the taxidermists - 31.5" , and tentatively around 202 DS.

None of which matters to me - hes my rusa and a reminder of my hunt. I doubt he will ever be entered in any competitions so his actual size or score doesnt matter to me at all.

And before anyone asks - no helicopters involved, entirely ground hunted and foot stalked.

Heres some pics of him before the shot

A mate of mine has just told me he's shagging his girlfriend and her twin. I said "How can you tell them apart?" He said "Her brother's got a moustache!"

The stag has a good-looking head, Muzza. The timber looks pretty heavy to me. How does it compare with average Rusa thickness?

You got me on that question , mate . I dont have enough experience of Rusa to know how it compares.

People tell me that this one is pretty heavy in the beam , and he has quite a bit of curve which gives him good length as well.

Other than that , what ya see is what ya get . I'm happy with him , I had a great time for my semi-annual middle-aged-blokes-adventure and have a nice trophy as well.

Now I badly need a fox and a dingo .....
