Ive been way too busy with work lately, so when a mate rang to see if I wanted to do a hunt up the other coast I was dubious, then decided bugger it lets go, work can wait.Turned out to be the right decision. The weather wasn't great, warm and wet, but I always say you only need one chance, one bit of luck. We put in quite a few miles and only saw 4 deer, but one of them was this guy right on dark. He was on to us and moving back to the bush and I put a round through his shoulder as he paused less than 10 meters from the edge. It staggered him but he recovered and started to step forward again. With trees covering his body I had no choice but to wait until I could see his neck and shooting off one knee managed to put a round through the base of his neck at 160 yards to put him down properly.
Conservative preliminary Douglas score of 289 at this stage but I think there might be a point or two more to recover from a better measure.

A mate of mine has just told me he's shagging his girlfriend and her twin. I said "How can you tell them apart?" He said "Her brother's got a moustache!"

Yeah it was a goodie! fantastic fishing out here but you have to be patient as the weather stops you a lot. This year has been a mongrel and I only got out 3 times. But you always come home with a feed for your family and the neighbours.
