Having established good loads for my Savage 110FP with 69 grain SMKs I am looking for loads using the heavier 77gr. bullet, hoping for long range viability ie. out to 600 yards. Any proven suggestions? I would also like to try these in my HBAR, however I have had no luck with 80gr. SMKs in my HBAR. Thanks, Peter. Be without fear in the face of your enemies. Peter as I am sure you know every rifle has it's own particular likes and dislikes as to powder and bullet weights. That said my Colt accuized rifle loves the 77 Sierra and IMR 4895, in Winchester cases and with Federal 205M's. This is a magazine length loading and is approaching maximum. Check your books. A bolt rifle may go hotter yet, just find the sweet spot. Member NRA, SCI- Life #358 28+ years now! DRSS, double owner-shooter since 1983, O/U .30-06 Browning Continental set.

You might want to run Greenhill stablity formula on rate of twist and see where you are with the long bullets. JMS
