I came across a local gun dealer with a Cooper TRP3, 22LR single shot. I had been thinking about getting a benchrest type 22 but had not seen this green stocked Cooper before. The dealer claimed that the rifle had only 28 rounds shot through it, was pricing it at $1200. It is also supposed to come with a vibration damper, but he didn't have it handy. If it's in good condition (looked like it), is this a fair price?

You can spend a lot of money on a 22lr rifle, and, no matter how good it is, you are still limited by the ammunition. Do a Google search on BR 50.

Even with good ammo, it would not be a competitive rimfire target rifle.
