Elmer, if its new it should do 3/4 to an inch with huntings loads. with great reloads or very good factory loads it should do 1/2 inch easy, many un-known variables in this question, best of luck and keep us posted ...jjmp

Looks like a slight bedding problem. I bought a post 64 30-06 Target that was touching the stock at one side of the barrel. Did a glass bedding job, and scraped off the tight spot in the foreend. Shot pretty good but developed a helluva flinch from shooting 190 gr BTs at a 1000 yd prone match. Rebarreled to 6mm Rem with a 8" twist barrel fromPac-Nor. Shoots 105 gr Lapua into the x ring, if the wind don't blow. Do the dollar bill test down the forend gap, and see if there isn't a tight spot. Mine was very visible, with a bigger gap on one side of the barrel-I think the wood wasn't dry enuf when Win inletted it in '69.

The rifle is a heavy barrel target. If I run with it will have another heart attack. Big Grin

Sorry I thought these groups were shot out of a hunting rifle, and they look good enough for a hunting rifle. No don't run with a target bench gun.
