Has any one heard of a buider named RG Sherer?

I went to the gun show today and picked up a bench gun in .22-250. It looks to be an old buid, on an FN comercial action, with a heavy walnut stock.

The rifle looks very well put together. I am expecting it to shoot very good.

Anyway. the right side of the barrell is marked: R.G. Sherer .22-250.

Any info would be appreciated.

This thread was in 2007. Yours was probably built in the 60s or 70s.

Thanks Butch,

Do you know where he was from? I assume that he is no longer making rifles, of maybe not with us any longer?

I hope to have this thing out on the bench at TRPC as soon as we get a nice weekend.
