Long range bases?
Any suggestions for reasonably priced long range bases for a Rem 700 and a Savage 110.
Thanks, Peter.

One of the easiest and less expensive ways is to go with weaver bases and Burris signature zee rings. You can put a shim under the rear base and the inserts will align your scope or you can get up to .040 by changing the inserts.

Thank you gentlemen. I have seen the Farrell bases in Brownells. I think I will get a couple.

I just ordered Talley bases & rings for my NightForce 5.5-22x56 on a Remington 700 action. I'll let you know how they work out.

Peter, Your in Jax, where do you shoot long range, Bradford? If so I'm out there almost every other weekend.

sdeshazo. I just found out about Bradford Farms a couple of months ago. My need for the long range bases is because I planned on shooting there! I spoke to them and they seemd nice enough. I just wasn't sure about how "crowded" it was and how the 600 yard range was handled eg. do you need a pit crew etc. Please PM me with your phone number, I am hoping you can educate me a bit. I have Rem 700 HB in 308 and Savage 110 in 223, both of which I was hoping to use out there. It seems that Blanding is out for us now.
Thanks, peter.

Yea for $260, NF can kiss my ass. I'm not paying 300 for damm rings & base. Talley makes good stuff at less than 1/2 that price.

Peter, I sent you an IM.

You don't mention a budget. And all of the other metioned are good setups. I opted for the Leupold long range base. It is the same as their standard 1 piece bases with 1/4° built into it. And it only costs about $1 more than the standard base.

Sorry I missed this one so I'm a bit late on it...

If you're still looking you might want to check out Brownells for Near bases...

For a bit of info on them they have a site: http://www.nearmfg.com/
