| Although I make my own rests, I have shot off the Sinclair, and like it very much. It is well worth it to get a windage top, the majority of guys that do not wish they had. The Farley has become popular but you really have to get used to a joystick rest. They are also 700 bucks or so.

| I also shoot off a homemade rest with a No. 2 Protektor bag on top. I've tried'em all, but prefer my own design. I built it to incorporate a 25# bag of lead shot-a BIG plus.
Praise be to the Lord, my rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle.

Depends. If you just want to sight in your 30/30 w/iron sights for deer season, sandbag on a couple stacked bricks (what I used to use!) works fine. If you're trying to shoot in the 1s with a $3000 6PPC, then something else is called for.

| I was considering the Sinclair all purpose rest. I have several rifles that I punch paper with & some that I varmint hunt with. I have been using a Bull Bag which works ok, but adjustment is limited. |

| Any of the known name rests should work fine - nothing wrong with those from Sinclair - also Hart, Bald Eagle, Ransom, etc. Frankly I was working towards introducing a budget priced rest myself and then the Caldwell came out so I gave up - can't beat the price. Whatever you get you can always trade or sell it for another model you'd like to try... too bad some women aren't the same! ![rotflmo](https://forums.accuratereloading.com/rotflmo.gif) P.S. My apologies to any women present - it's a T.I.C. comment...heck, I'm looking for a good woman right now (40ish or +) - esp. one that likes to shoot! ![thumb](http://www.romulus2.com/forum/images/smilies/thumb.gif)

| Hvy barrel, start collecting English double guns from some of the better houses. Six or eight a year and its still cheaper than a woman. Other then once or twice a year, they are also more fun.

You are probably right on both counts. |
