I am having some difficulties with bench rest shooting a 7-08 TC encore Pistol (15" barrel) from shooting bags. My preference would be to use a shooting rest designed for pistols that works for the TC encore - anyone have any suggestions or experiences to share on how best to do this

I ve got a encore in 308 and I use my rifle rest and put something the right height under the handle of the pistol. Maybe a box of shells or something like that. Youve gotta get something solid for that pistol to rest on.

I shoot an XP-100 pistol, in a rear grip BR stock. My good friend and shooting partner, Dave Hamrich, of Southwest Pool Tables, made me a rear "wedge" to set the grip on. It is an oversized doorstop with leather on the ramp and the bottom. Works like a champ.
