I am in the market for a rifle-oriented range bag. The bags w/ all those little pouches for holding pistol mags are wasted space. I am looking for a largeish range bag that has rifle mag poches on either the inside or outside. The bag also has to be big enough for all the other stuff, to include a chronograph.

Any suggestions?

I use a rather large toolbox that I got from Lowes or Home Depot for about $11.00. It is hard sided of course and the chrono goes in the bottom compartment along with targets , ammo etc. The top tray holds the ear plugs, stapler etc.

Yeah, toolbox. Home Depot -- I got the "footlocker size" one with wheels on one end, a pull-out tow handle on the other.

Two trays, for jags, oil, solvents, wrenches, tools, lens cleaner, cotton swabs . . .

Lower area for targets, staple gun, a 100 yd. contractor's tape measure, patches, cleaning cloths, supplies, mags., ammo, brass . . .

They're about $20 -- $30. If you call it a "range bag" the price goes up by a factor of FIVE.

YUP! Especially if it is made of "ballistic nylon"!

"Tactical Ballistic Nylon" -- Ka-Ching! $$$

I should add that I strap a MTM range cleaning stand to the top of this box, tripod and spotting scope . . . Out in the field it functions as a bench seat for the spotter.

Cool as hell, ample size, and pretty cheap.
