I'm interested in a medium bore rifle, say 6.5mm to 30 cal. Looking for a light benchrest that can be used in hunting as well. I have a wonderful old heavy barrel Remington 700 BDL in 22-250 that consistently shoots in the 3s, and that's about what I had in mind. Looking for suggestions, please.

My thoughts - 260 Remington, 284, or 308. Perhaps a Remington 40x action, but I would like it to have a magazine feed and I don't know if that action permits it. Other actions as well?? Lilja or Krieger barrel, though there are some others out there.

check the thread here on the same thing, but wanting to shoot cast bullets. It's all around a Savage BV-12S in 308 Savage with the Accu-trigger. A good one will shoot jacketed bullets in the .5" range at 100 and right at 2" at 300yards. You can also have it as a single shot.
