Do you think through those maneuvers, or are they so fast it has to be done using muscle memory?

Not the whole routine, but each individual maneuver.

Looks like a fine way to spend a sunny afternoon.

Or rather it would be when I was MUCH younger

Don't limit your challenges . . .
Challenge your limits

I do have to think about the maneuvers but not so much how to do them. More just making sure I’ve got the airspeed and altitude to do them safely. I’ve done them so much they are kind of muscle memory but every once in a while I still screw stuff up and need some altitude to fix it. Wink

When I first started out it took a lot of thought and trial and error to get them right.

Very few men get to experience this. Congratulations.

Thank you Bill,

I've been flying aerobatics for fun since I was in my late teens. But I started doing serious precision aerobatic flying about 5 years ago with the IAC (International Aerobatic Club). It has been a fantastic experience I'll be flying two competitions this summer and possibly a third in the fall.

The skill level and professionalism of these men and women is incredible. I find myself in a constant state of learning with this group. If anyone has a desire to learn aerobatics I highly recommend joining the IAC.
