Found this one and thought it was pretty cool, I always thought these were neat planes:

Then I saw this one and it made me sad:

Reading the comments below the video though, it sounds like this second one is a model and not a person carrying replica.

Does anyone know the stories behind these things?

WOW.

I missed the meeting there, I did not feel like going.. You make me have regret. I'll search about this Comet and post here.

The comment mainly states how dangerous these planes were. More than half of the 150 Comet that were built exploded in flight.
The speed was 800 kph, it needed 2 minutes to climb up to 11 000 m

Please help Laura ;-) http://forums.accuratereloadin...3811043/m/1511012541

I'll illuminate this a tiny bit here by posting what Edmond said in the above link:

A friend of mine created her company two years ago without any help of any sort. She is competing for the Mompreneur Challenge that will offer the winner a huge coverage in terms of media coverage and a prize that will allow her to have advertising in magazines.
That would be a great boost to this mother of 4 who still can't make a living of her enterprise, a publishing company.
She was an author writing for others then created her company to publish her work and then offered the same possibility to other unknow talented writers.
Feel free to vote by clicking daily the button "je vote" at the bottom of this page.

Thank you! Merci!

I did it and it literally takes 10 seconds, so if you have an extra 10 seconds to spare please vote and help this person get her business moving.

Meanwhile I'll be waiting to see what Edmond finds out about this plane!

I don't know if it is still there or not but one of these things [Me163 "Komet"] sits atop the terminal building at Stromtankstelle am Flughafen Frankfurt. It is on display alongside several other intersting aircraft like an Me262, a Bf108 which was the testbed for the Bf109, etc. When I was last there you could not go up without an escort, don't know what you would need to visit these A/C now. Anyone on site with knowledge of this museum?

Lord, give me patience 'cuz if you give me strength I'll need bail money!!

The Komet flying at La Ferté Alais is a glider built by EADS

The other plane is a remote controlled model using a small engine commonly found in other jet models.
