NOSTALGIA DREAM MACHINES-
Take a look here-

http://rareaircraft.com/sales/...cutive-n17616-sn-15/

This is my all time Dream Machine...and actually the first one I have actually seen on the market...and it got away before I could even take a look!!

Wouldn't this be a cool machine to go airport hopping to hit all of the DINERS, DRIVE-INS AND DIVES Restaurants...or arrive at the local airport to meet the guys going pheasant hunting...or back country Idaho??!!

I'm in LOVE!!

Take a look at the other aircraft for sale on this website...what a collection of Nostalgia birds...

Wishing you all a Very Happy, HEALTHY and Prosperous New Year!!

Cheers,

BLASPHEMY!!! Mad Wink

Next to a stagger wing the Spartan Executive might well be the sexiest GA airplane ever built.

Here's what old friend Bernie Sharp (brother of PH John Sharp, old South African Airforce pilot and avid pilot to this day, in fact building an RV-7 as we speak,...had to say in my email version of this thread to non-AR flying friends, about my comment about my not being a hotshot taildragger pilot-

I would not worry too much about your tail dragger experience: the easiest
method I used to get anyone up to speed with a tail dragger was to make them
take their hands off the stick so that all they had to control the aircraft
was the rudder pedals; I would then use the stick and throttle to keep the
plane virtually on the stall while they had to maintain the aircraft in a
'wings level' attitude.
Using this method you learn to 'dance with the lady' very quickly.
Kind Regards,
Bernie

Bernie is an old T-6 (Harvard) driver and instructor...and he was comparing the Executive as a little brother!!

Yes, in flying the Twin-Beech D-18, you always danced on the rudder pedals after the mains touch down...

Here is a link to the full site that the Book link was posted...this is really a spectacular expose on the Spartan Executive!!-

http://vintagespartanaircraft.com/

I am in LOVE!!
I have learned that there are still 20 active Exec's, 17 spread around the US...not bad for a run of only 34 just after the depression and before WWII...

Cheers,
