Hmmmmmmmmmmmm, I wonder what history the 310 has. Let's see, Texas border town, Mexico registry, abandoned. Prolly somebody forgot where they parked it after an all night party.

Jim,
Even buying it from a legal entity, it seems as it may be very expensive to both register and to bring the maintenance up to date.

Scrap pr parts only. Would cost $300,000 to bring it fully back. Can buy a flying one for next to nothing.

I'm not familiar with the process but unless they give you some kind of sheriff's seizure/release then getting a title to it would be nearly impossible IMO. They're selling it as is, where is, with no cure for any defects AND you can't even work on it there, so you'd have to truck it out. I'm guessing the owner, or more likely, the last pilot, is either in jail or pushing up the desert equivalent of daisies in an unmarked grave. Or, someone "stole" it, either with or without the real owner's permission, flew a load of coke in with it, and walked off.

Parts only I would guess. The mere attempt to title and bring this to flyable condition would not only take money, but an inordinate amout of time. It would be interesting to see the final price. I won't be one of the bidders!

Not only all the above, but the fine print saying this has been abandoned/impounded for 5 years.

It does seem to be in nice condition for a parts aircraft, if someone had an early model 310 it would be a treasure trove but otherwise not so much.

McAllen is an interesting place, the only place I have seen more junk is Corrosion Corner in MIA.
That 310 is flat out dangerous. Trust me if it had any value somebody in McAllen would have stolen it by now....

in it's current condition it's worth ~3-5grand
that aircraft weighs 3300lbs dry
and the engines account for 450lbs of that (with props)
so you are talking ~2000lbs of aluminum scrap at ~$0.40/lb

If you sell the engine(s) to an airboat owner, (IF they run...) you could easily net several times your investment.

With no logs or data the engines are only good as cores for overhaul. in the aircraft universe "Don't know" equals "worthless".

plus of course whatever you could sell to another 310 owner... various bits that don't need extensive certification... metal panels, etc.

And frankly you'd probably net almost as much for the various "Not Certified for flight" instruments on ebay as you would for the aluminum scrap.

Can't even imagine you could find anyone that would sign an 8130 for any piece that came off this thing.
