I'll gladly answer that question! We currently fly the B777 in two configurations:
B777-200 with RR 'Trent' engine, range 8150 mi
B777-200LR with GE90-110B1 and range 10840 mi
Hope that answers you question - anything further re Delta please just ask.
PS - you can also find a lot of fleet info at http://rds.yahoo.com/_ylt=A0ge...pes_layout/index.jsp

Lord, give me patience 'cuz if you give me strength I'll need bail money!!

Right you are - have a look!

ATL to JNB
Carrier: Delta
Flight # 200
Departs: Atlanta (ATL) 8:05pm
Arrives: Johannesburg (JNB) 5:10pm
Equipment Type: Boeing 777-200LR
Flight Duration: 15.05
Miles: 8439
Total miles: 8439

JNB to ATL
Carrier: Delta
Flight # 201
Departs: 201 Johannesburg (JNB) 9:05pm
Arrives: Atlanta (ATL) 7:20am
Equipment Type: Boeing 777-200LR
Flight Duration: 16.15
Miles: 8439

Miles shown are between the origin and final destination city and are not used for the calculation of SkyMiles.

Hope this helps.

Only a rumor but possibly this flight will develop into a variant that will fly ATL-JNB-CPT-ATL due to the weight restrictions at JNB because of the heat and elevation factors. No future in flying a route with restrictions on what you can haul out.

I did the FLT 007 Dubai to Atlanta and the 008 back. That's a long flight, especially if I am heading to Dillingham, AK. About 35 hours in the air. Definitely have to get up and walk around. I had two buddies get DVT on the Dubai to Atlanta flight. Lou

DVT still worries me. Thought I had it after that JNB/ATL thing on SAA in '05, but it was just soreness in the calvesfrom doing a lot of walking.

Always get up and walk, if you can, and take your shoes off after you've reached cruise altitude, or late in the climb and put them on at top of descent. That will help improve circulation quite a bit.
