i've been considering getting into flying, live 8 hours from my parents & 2 of my sisters and about 4 hours from my other sister so figure it could be a fun & convenient way to visit. my best friend got his private pilot's license a couple years ago and really showed me that it doesn't HAVE to be a super expensive endeavor. so for those of you that are part of a flying club(s) -how did you decide which one(s) to join -what are some things you like about your club or disslike about the club set up. -what are some questions to ask of a club before joining -what plane(s) does your club have and at what cost/hour (wet/dry) It appears that there are a few clubs locally to me so I may have some options depending upon membership openings

Tim, I was in a very good flying club for 25 years, Super Cub, Cessna's- 172-182,206 and 180 on Floats...then it morphed due to losses over time, lost 180 and traded bones for Citabria, sold older 182 and purchased later one, lost 206 and replaced with another 182....so when I left due to fears of liability and lacing maintenance we had the Citabria and 2 later model 182's Very inexpensive flying, 30 members and only 10 of us flew regularly, low acquisition cost and dues....great while it lasted!! Glad to chat with you about cautions and benefits. Lots of clubs around everywhere. Send me a PM of your phone number and best time to call, I will call you. Cheers, 470EDDY
