Was just reading a defence article regarding an agreement between India and Japan where India has agreed to purchase 12 ShinMaywa US-2 Amphibious Aircraft from Japan - after a discount of course. Indians...

I had no idea that amphibious aircraft of this size were still being manufactured and for military use to boot.

I don't know about the Chinese one, but the other two were designed as water bombers but also have passenger configurations that are marketed to the military.
