Guys

I need to buy an Olive Drab Air Force Flight suit and have found the site below. They look like just what I need...... but the buggers don't answer the phones and as I live overseas, I can't make an online order....... can anyone suggest a website that has a similar product at a similar price please. - Or alternatively can someone tell me why all I ever get is their answerphone.....

...based on what I can determine from the web site you provided, the flight suits are poly/cotton. If you want a nomex type suit, I suggest contacting: www.flightsuits.com Their products are expensive, but good "stuff".

Another web-site to try is: www.sportsmansguide.com From time to time they have used US military nomex flight suits at a reasonable price.

I don't know if either will ship overseas.

Good luck

Steve,

What size are you?

I haven't seen it in a year or so, but unless my wife tossed it I have an extra nomex CWU/27P suit floating around somewhere. I'll look for it tomorrow and let you know if I find it, and what size it is.

That said, even if I can't find it don't monkey with a cotton suit, get a nomex one. And gloves. (I didn't wear mine all the time but they do protect you from fire, if it was hot sometimes I'd just wear them at takeoff).

for every hour in front of the computer you should have 3 hours outside

Overall height: 5 foot 7 inches

Steve,

If you are using this suit for flight purposes DO NOT USE COTTON. Cotton burn nice and pretty.

Use a Nomex suit as mentioned above.

If you are just buying a flight suit for a costume or skydiving or motorcycling then a cotton suit would be fine.

I'd planned on using it for hunting as I think it'll be nice and cool and for flying in the kitfox....... there's plans afoot to fly it up the Mozambican coast etc and end up in Zanzibar.......

Hi Allen,

Thanks very much, I'll wait to hear from Mark as to size and if it's the right size and I can find a way to pay Mark, I'll take you up on that....... are you hunting with Pierre? - If so, I can pick it up from you in camp....

Steve,

If that falls through, you might want to look at tank suits, or British or Germany Army "coveralls"
I think the Yanks have plain green "overalls" in their Arg Supply places..

Good luck with the hunting,

Regards,

Pete

Thanks for the suggestion - I think the tank suit would be a bit too hot for me out here though..... or at least, the last time I wore one, it was bloody hot. Wink

Steve,
Yes with Pierr'e. 10 Day hunt. If I can help just let me know.

I might have to try one of these myself. They look like it would be comfortable on the flight over there.

Steve:

You need a 48r or regular, try this link:

http://www.uscav.com/ProductInfo.aspx?productid=7569

It is just what your looking for. Cotton chars at a lower temperature than Nomex or Kevlar, but it is cooler. If you go with a cotton/poly it will melt on you in a fire and you will die from the burns if they exceed 35-45% of your body.

I used to hate mine in the summer in my attack helicopter pilot days, but they were great in the Officers club or local bars for picking up the chicks...
