I was trying to find a Bill Mauldin cartoon, and happened across this link to a squadron that I had never heard of:

At any rate, one of the planes is named this:




Now here is something that I think is pretty cool, I am SURE that it was named that because of this particular cartoon:


The caption reads "Uncle Willie!"

Anyway, if you have not read "Up Front" recently you might consider doing so, and preferably give a copy to a returning veteran as his comments are timeless and just as appropriate today as they were 60 years ago.
