What a neat airplane.......
Got 400 - 500 hours towing gliders in the L-19, on a busy day 30+ tows aday.
In the early 70's the FBO I worked for would build an L-19 from parts during the winter and it would sell for about 15K. One of the first thing we would do as we would put the fuselage together was to pull out the observer panel and hard points from the wings and throw it all away. Today that stuff is like hens teeth as the airplane is now in the Warbird Status.
If I had the where with all I'ld be flying one today.

Looked at the length of the video and did not think I was would watch the whole thing . . .

WRONG!

Tough men for tough times~

I was lucky enough to fly one from back seat from Chu Lai to Duc Pho.
I imagine the pilot got plenty of stick time and a break from straight and level transport flying was handy. We got there early so I got some landing approach demos before he and I had other things to do.
We used them when we could to get back to our location.
