While looking for something else, I found this clip. It has some really good stuff in it... a high "g" roll over-the-top to get displacement, etc. Must have had good techincal advice. I always wondered why the plane being chased doesn't duck into the clouds. They seem to go to a lot of trouble to stay out of them. Is that just because its a movie or is there some reason for it? Often, clouds aren't as thick as you think. Sometimes one can see an aircraft from several hundred feet behind if there isn't rain within. And, there is a natural tendency to avoid clouds when you have a tumbled gyro, etc. Personally, during ACM, I've tried to "hide" in clouds. It worked about 1/2 the time.... but if somebody was shooting cannons at me, I'd do about anything. It's even simpler than that, "loose sight, loose the fight". | |||
