waterratGrumman Goose
This pristine Goose ran out of gas over Lake Clark on jan 3,the ice wouldn't support it on it's wheels and it got frozen in. I wasn't involved but by all reports it was a project getting it back in the air,,about 3 days ago!

458WinDid he try landing wheels down or on the belly?
It looks like you guys are cold enough now to really thicken up the ice.

jetdrvrAmazing. Recovering that Caribou is absolutely amazing. I flew one out of Miami for a while. Tough bird. R-2000's and leaked oil like a sieve. It was an old Air America bird. You can find pics on the net. N544Y.
