Lotof this stuff happened in the early days of aviation. Seems they even fixed the skin on zeppelins in flight. Grizz Indeed, no human being has yet lived under conditions which, considering the prevailing climates of the past, can be regarded as normal. John E Pfeiffer, The Emergence of Man Those who can't skin, can hold a leg. Abraham Lincoln Only one war at a time. Abe Again.

Of course that was a barnstorming act. They rigged the wheel assembly to fall off on take off then had the wing walker perform the "repair" in flight.

Rigged wheel or not she still had to transfer between planes, walk the wing, climb down, put the wheel on and then climb back on the wing for the landing Don't limit your challenges . . . Challenge your limits

It was one hell of a dangerous stunt and it took some serious strength, agility, skill and a huge pair of iron clad lady balls! And it was an act designed and choreographed to produce, drama, chills, thrills and attract paying crowds. Barnstorming was not an easy, safe or secure way to make a living!
