http://www.adn.com/2010/08/01/...alaska-national.html Wild Bill was 61, and was the real deal, an extraordinary and awesome man . He flew a J-3 cub from New York to Sterling Alaska prior to about 1980, and has been bush flying ever since. He was a natural pilot with thousands of hours in various aircraft. I don't know the other two. It's a sad event. Sorry to hear it. My thoughts and prayers are with the families. Any word on the cause yet?

We are diminished... My Grandfather told me flying is like riding a motorcycle. If you keep at it, in time it will kill you. This is sad to hear, but there are many worse ways to die. Rich

One of the other guys owned a construction company. He and one of his workers were flying a generator out to a remote site when they went down. Its been a rough summer for Alaskan aviation this year. A lesson in irony The Food Stamp Program, administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, is proud to be distributing this year the greatest amount of free Meals and Food Stamps ever, to 46 million people. Meanwhile, the National Park Service, administered by the U.S. Department of the Interior, asks us... "Please Do Not Feed the Animals." Their stated reason for the policy is because "The animals will grow dependent on handouts and will not learn to take care of themselves." Thus ends today's lesson in irony.

I always thought that. With the risks I have taken, I should have been dead years ago.
