Recently our local airport built a small passenger terminal and as part of the grand opening invited Collings Foundation to the event with its B-17, B-24, B-25, and a P-51. We toured the bombers from front to back inside and out. The next day I had the privilege to take a 30 minute flight in the B-17. It was a great experience.

Was the B-17 909? I have almost that same picture looking rearward when I got to take a ride in it a few years ago. Of course, since it was in Oregon there were mountains in the background.

The Saturday before last I saw a B-17 flying around Eugene, OR for about an hour.

Very cool outfit. They will be in my neck of the woods June 16-18.
