Makes you wonder how the total cost of recovery compared to the replacement cost of the plane.

Good stuff. An old friend, Eddie Frankiewicz, flew his R4D "Charlene" to the Liv Glacier in support of the first airplane to the south pole, Que Sera Sera, back in 1956. These guys were/are amazing.
