My youngest son retired after 21yrs. All of it was with the U2 program except for a year when he was in the middle east taking care of the A 10s. He loves the U2s.
This is the squadron commander with Chad. My 6'3" 240 lb baby. They gave him an American Flag that has flown over every station that he has served. That includes the USA, South Korea, Cyprus, Hawaii,England, Saudi, UAE, Italy, and some unknown places. I'm very proud of him and wish he would move back to Texas. He is my one Son that is crazy about shooting, hunting, and fishing.

Thanks Guys. He has spent a little time at Travis. Medical time I think. His base was at Beale AFB, Calif. until he moved to Lancaster, Calif. when he started working at Plant 42. It was Lockheed's rebuild place for the U2.

Congratulations to him, and ask him if he ever ran into Sid Head. I flew with Sid at Southern Air Transport and he used to relate some interesting stories about the U2.

Chad said he must have been before his time. It is a small fraternity and 20yrs with it allowed him to at least know all of them. He said the guy could have been a short timer maybe.

Congrats, Butch. It's hard to belive it's been 12 years since I retired. Your son will be saying the same kind of thing before you know it.
