Ought to give the Russian pilots cause to think before they do something stupid to an American asset.

Yeah, I know, in exercises after everyone gets bored with Raptors killing everyone BVR, they get closer and play with the the Gen 4 guys. In a conventional dogfight a Raptor, as awesome as it is, is a little more vulnerable to the skill of the pilot(s) it's fighting against. However, if the Raptor makes no mistakes and the Typhoon, Rafael, F-15, F-16, F-18 make no mistakes, the Raptor wins. I don't think anything out there today can turn with a Raptor. I guess its biggest vulnerability is when it gets inside the IRST range of a Typhoon and the Typhoon knows it's there. Something that would be very rare in combat.

Also, remember that in the last 35 or so years, American fighters have killed Russian fighters in virtually every hostile encounter.
