I for one would like to know more about your A/C - what do you operate, equipment wise?

We mainly operate:
- Chieftain
- Cherokee 6 300
- Cessna Citation
- Baron 58
- Beechcraft 1900

I am in the process of trying to get all the aircraft together for a photo session for the website but it is proving more difficult, hopefully by May we will have all the info on the website

We are a licensed air charter company and have various other aircraft on our license, so anything is possible from a 4 seater all the way up. Our pricing is not over the top and we work around the clients needs.

What's avgas and Jet A going for in RSA these days? Must be ridiculous...

Its over R 10.00 per litre now, its actually going up again shortly, so lets see....

Amazing. African charter flights are really going up, but then I got a quote for a Kodiak Bear hunt for a friend and the charter fee is $2400.00 from Anchorage to Kodiak Island, just a hundred or so miles, as I recall. So we're getting hammered here in the States as well.

When I soloed at age 16 back in 1959, I paid $6.00 per hour wet for a 90 HP Champion Tri Traveler. Now, I'd bet the going rate would be around a hundred, maybe slightly less.

Used to be an ordinary working stiff could afford a small airplane like a Cessna 170/172 or a Piper Super Cruiser or a Tri Pacer and fly it on weekends and vacation, or somewhere for lunch. Now, private aviation in the states, even light aircraft, has become the realm of the wealthy. Damned shame. And a pilot shortage is building because nobody's going to shell out a hundred grand for the minimum ratings, struggle through time building to get an airline job, and then put up with lowered salaries and lousy working conditions and totally piss-poor management, just to fly a jet.

African flying is my great love, as I did a good bit of it in Hercules aircraft for several years. I wish you good luck in your endeavours.

Sorry no reply sooner, had problems posting replys on AR, but seems all is sorted now, just thought I would let you know that we are now paying in excess of R 11.20, some local airfields are charging R13.00 per liter.

It is a shame, the price is making flying in accessable for the majority of people, there is nothing like watching the sun rise at cruising altitude sipping on a cup of coffee while knowing that shortly you will be starting the safari of a life time.

As I see current rates of exchange, 0.13060 Rand in US dollar, that is US $1.47 per litre at R11.20 or $1.70 US per litre at R14.00 per litre - over $6.00 US per gallon!

I talked to someone from Democratic Republic of the Congo Thursday night, and he said that AVGAS was 9.50 a gallon at his airport. He didn't comment on Jet Fuel.
