There was a push to re-engine them to turbofans a few years ago, but that died in Congress. Seems the airframe has plenty of life left in them to consider such an upgrade. Of course they have been rebuilt so many times there's probably not an original part left in any of them. Pretty amazing aircraft and very cool to see one emerge from the boneyard. I guess that one slipped through the 1991 Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty that saw 365 of them destroyed. What a fricken waste. ___________________ Just Remember, We ALL Told You So. | |||
