With Covid running it's course, which may go on years, and the resulting economic devastation, is there going to be a place in Aviation for the MAX 8 when the dust settles ? I'm thinking , Not.

But, will there be a place for it in the skies ? It's going to be fighting economics and public perception.

Economics is the whole reason for the Max 8. It is advertised as 20% more efficient than the most current efficient single-aisle aircraft.

Hope it gets back into the air soon.

I just heard from reliable source that this aircraft will NOT receive the typical Type Certification, but EACH AIRCRAFT will face certification!!....that would be first time in FAA and US AVIATION history!!

I also heard there is likely a name/model change in the offing??!!

I just did a drive down the tarmac at Renton...it is stuffed with MAX aircraft of many airlines .... SOUTHWEST dominant, United, American... and many foreign markings...

Not me. I ain't flyin' them. I didn't see one in ALASKA colors!!

The European Union has just approved the MAX as safe to fly.
No discussion of individual aircraft certification.

A step in the right direction!!
