No, I dont have a full scale pilots license but I do love me some RC airplanes!!! I build them and race some of them too. We have a class that I race in here in Alabama that is called Club40 pylon racing. The planes have to weigh a minimum of 4 lbs, 8 oz and they all have to have the same size two stroke engine. We have 4 pilots go up at the same time and duke it out for 10 laps going around 2 pylons that each straightaway is 4oo ft long, so you may as well say 800 ft around the poles. In this class the AMA requires that we stay under 100 mph, although there are other classes that reach much higher speeds. Let me know what you think about it please? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fwjHtK_GRCI I have loved WWII planes from the day I was born it seems and am currently having a Grumman F6F Hellcat being built. It is 1/6 scale and has an 80 inch wingspan and has a 55cc gas engine that swings a 23 inch prop and has functioning 90° rotating retracts. Hopefully once it warms up some we will get to do the maiden flight on it. John

That's really cool. I'd love to mount a camera on one of those and watch the ride through a set of goggles.

Started flying RC when I was about 8 years old. Flew until I was about 14 or so when we lost our field. Was out of it for almost 20 years, and recently got back into it. I've got a Great Planes Giant Super Sportster that should be arriving later this week, and will be putting a 36cc gasser in it with a 19-20" Xoar prop. I'm also working on my private license for the full size stuff at the moment as well. Shooting for the end of March or early April to do my check ride just depends on how the weather plays with my work schedule. Yes it's cocked, and it has bullets too!!!
