When I saw a picture of the aircraft involved in the Montana crash my thoughts went the discussion of T tailed aircraft and the Buffalo Crash thread.

I am not a pilot, always been a "wannabe" and wondered what the experienced folks here thought?

Sounds like the investigators are looking at aft CG loading (perhaps over weight) as the fuel load burned off and maybe an icing episode @ about 1500 ft.

I heard a brief report on the radio yesterday. Said the plane was making "many turns" just before it crashed. I thought maybe the pilot was making quick and tight turns to amuse the kids. No way we'll ever know because there was no FDR aboard...

I am not going to second guess the pilot on this one. I been flying for 33+ years now. Nor am I going to to say that it was a CG shift or anything else, because I don't know. What I do know that there was no problem till short final. The PC-12 is a very good airplane, so till the FAA issues a report, we will have to wait.
