Holy toledo!

Do you have any other info about it? Amazing piloting, not that one would have much of a choice.

OK, these guys think it is a fake, and after looking at it a couple dozen times I have to agree.

http://kenshi.livejournal.com/210688.html

Start paying attention after 47 seconds. The most glaringly obvious one is at 54 seconds, when the plane goes back on the runway the right main gear is obviously CGI, it is a blurred gray compared to the rest of the plane. (however, if you examine the frames individually after 47 seconds in you will see other erratic frames and background).

Too bad, it would have made a nice video for someone to show their grandkids.

And better him than me!

R/C plane. Good flying, but done by remote.

Obviously, some folks did NOT believe the clip!!!

Too funny.

If it's real it was an amazing experience. If not, it is a well done hoax! Will be interested in that new information becomes available over time.

Fake? I dunno. These stunt planes usually have enough horsepower to fly on a knife edge like he's doing right before he lands. If it's fake, it's a damn good one and if it's real then it's a damn good/lucky pilot!

The plane that pulls up and loses the right wing has no marking on top of the left wing.
The plane that lands is marked on top of the left wing.

I thought it was a model-- until the pilot opened the canopy. Still, many things can be done with CGI...

Of course you can do things with CGI, but watch this video again a few times and you'll start noticing things that just would not happen.

Starting at the bounce right before the landing, notice the wing is held perfectly level. Without a wing on the opposite side there is no way a plane can drop in at stall and not have the wing keep going and contact the ground. And then bounce up in the air wing still perfectly level both going up and down at stall speed.

In addition to some other stuff, also note at the end of the flight, even though the right wing is supposedly gone the plane sits perfectly wings level and doesn't droop down at all.

And lastly, notice the aileron is perfectly neutral as it would be if counterbalanced by the opposite aileron. If the right wing were gone the aileron would droop from its own weight. You can see both of the pilots hands clearly at one point, so he is not holding the stick with them.

Anyway, its a fake.
